Alejandro DeHoyos is an Emmy Award winning director and producer with 23+ years of experience.
About the filmmaker
Crafting True Cinema
Alejandro is a powerhouse of energy. He’s a husband, father, humanitarian, missionary, and Emmy-winning filmmaker focused on global motivation & human conservation.
In addition to filming & producing for the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs, Alejandro travels the world with organizations to advance their mission with impactful cinematic storytelling.
Alejandro’s feature films & tv series have screened at festivals on five continents and on television in 135 countries.
Behind the camera, Alejandro is known for his dynamic Cinéma Vérité style (french: “truthful cinema”), crafting authentic narratives with rich characters, and the ability to capture fleeting, intimate moments. He has filmed in over 18 countries to document war zones, ancient holy sites, water crises, mission trips and religious expeditions.
Alejandro’s feature film series Passport Preachers has filmed on location in Ukraine, Cuba, Kenya, Uganda, Mexico, India, Honduras, and Argentina with plans for Uganda, Pakistan, and Israel next year.
At home in San Antonio he invests in his community by offering workshops, screenings, and internships.
